Mvoid is a pioneer and expert in virtual acoustics with the focus on simulating all hardware of the audio chain. The Mvoid methodology translates concepts to active virtual prototypes for the automotive, professional and consumer audio sectors.
In the early phase of the first ideas for new products we work together with our customers. Moving through the concept phase examine whether ideas are feasible based on analyzing and optimizing the concepts in the virtual environment to make reliable predictions of the acoustic results even before the first prototype is built. The results are the basis for further product design & development.
In the past, the large number of acoustic influences meant that acoustic experts had to optimize the acoustic properties with real prototypes. Today Mvoid’s proprietary simulation methodology delivers reliable results on the computer and acoustic auralization you can listen to.
The virtual model allows rapid adaptation to various system requirements, material selections and system architectures. The growing multidisciplinary simulation model offers a safe analysis and enables a continuous evaluation and improvement of products and systems throughout the complete development process while at the same time validating acoustic properties.
Unique: The multidisciplinary simulation approach of Mvoid analyzes, optimizes and predicts sound and vibrations of products and systems in the virtual environment. Already in the pre-development phase acoustics becomes audible.
The simulation model can be used to bridge concept development through the next generations. For example, vehicles from concept to SOP (Start of Production) & pro audio systems from concept to full bandwidth (20Hz to 20kHz) room integration.
We live in a time of change. The rapid digital technological development, the growing importance of electronics, software and networking is obvious. Mvoid takes the responsibility of shaping the future. We develop acoustic solutions of tomorrow – whether it is for a car or for a concert hall. We are passionate about multidisciplinary simulations and acoustics.
Together with our customers we optimize products and systems, we improve the engineering efficiency by shortening the development time and conservation of resources. Our objective is to reproduce excellent sound, acoustic performance and outstanding solutions for NVH. We transfer technology into audible emotions. That’s Mvoid.
We are an independent, owner-operated company. Mvoid offers services to the global market, retained by an impressive list of premium automotive, professional and consumer audio companies. With our expert services, we strive to guide renowned enterprises through the virtual acoustic product development process. Mvoid was founded in Karlsruhe, Germany, in 2011.

President & CEO of the Mvoid Group is entrepreneur, thought leader, engineer and scientist. He has been researching for more than 25 years in the areas of Multiphysics and virtual as well as computational acoustics. His passion is Jazz music.
Previously, Alfred spent five years with Harman International Inc. where he held several senior managerial and executive advisor positions in the areas of simulation and virtual acoustics for audio systems. Alfred started his career as founding member, Executive Partner and CTO in 1990 with Numerical Analysis and Design, a company specialized in engineering analysis with finite and boundary elements for stress analysis, structural dynamics and computational acoustics.
He is honorary member of NAFEMS, member of the NAFEMS German Steering Committee and Chairman of the NAFEMS Multiphysics Working Group as well as founding member of the NAFEMS Professional Simulation Engineering Scheme. Furthermore, he is a full member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) and Chairman of the AES Technical Committee for Automotive Audio.
"One of my favorite quotes is: 'Nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time has come' (Victor Hugo). For me, this guiding principle includes: always act with foresight, take a look at new, undiscovered ideas, sometimes move away from conventional ways, think outside the box in order to give ideas room to evolve. Ideas, whose time have come." - Dr. A. Svobodnik.
Director of Engineering of the Mvoid Group, has an extensive experience in the three main areas of audio technology and product development: Professional, Consumer and Automotive OEM.
Steve's career in audio spans several decades where he has worked as a freelance live sound engineer, a professional musician and operated his own business designing transducers and professional audio systems. He joined Harman International's automotive division in 1996 and over the next ten years Steve managed Harman's multi-national automotive acoustics R&D group where he established an advanced FEA simulations program. Since 2006 Steve has become a go-to resource for complex transducer and R&D management solutions, consulting for many major global audio companies.
Steve holds 16 patents, has published numerous technical papers and is chair of the Audio Engineering Society's Technical Council, Standards Committee for Loudspeaker Measurement and Modeling, and the Technical Committee for Loudspeakers and Headphones.
